Très jolie statuette en bronze représentant Saint-Pierre sur son trône, auréolé, tenant dans sa main gauche les clés du paradis et bénissant les fidèles de la main droite.
Trône aux accotoirs en volute, les côtés sculptés de boucliers et de palmettes.

Cette statuette est une réduction de la célèbre effigie en bronze de l'apôtre à la basilique Saint-Pierre de Rome, longtemps attribuée à Arnolfo di Cambio (1245-1302/10). L’œuvre romaine, avec son trône, fut souvent reproduite par les fabricants de statuaire religieuse de la seconde moitié du 19ème siècle.

Throne with scrolled armrests, sides carved with shields and palmettes.

This statuette is a reduction of the famous bronze effigy of the apostle at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, long attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio (1245-1302 / 10). The Roman work, with its throne, was often reproduced by the makers of religious statuary in the second half of the 19th century.
